How to Stay Active on Vacation

The sweetest time of the year is approaching - vacation time! Many people have already planned their dates, locations, and arrangements with those they want to spend their long-awaited free time with. However, amidst all these exciting plans, we often forget one crucial aspect of our health and well-being - physical activity.

It is essential to include activities covering this vital part of our lives and ensure that we remain active and vital during our vacation.

1. Plan Ahead

You know how it goes; if something isn't planned, it often doesn't happen. Excuses frequently arise about how vacation schedules are dynamic, spontaneous, and flexible, making it hard to have a fixed time for training or any other physical activity. Plans can change in an instant. We agree that organizing under such conditions can be challenging, but it's not impossible. The key is proactive thinking and planning.

Make a schedule of activities before you go on vacation, considering the opportunities your location offers. Try to identify time slots in your day when you could exercise, even if it's just 20 minutes. Remember that exercise can also be as simple as walking or swimming, which you can easily fit into your day. Also, bring basic exercise equipment like resistance bands or light dumbbells to be ready for a quick workout wherever you are. Keep in mind that any form of movement is better than none, so make an effort to stay active as much as possible.

It’s important to have several backup plans to stay active no matter how your day unfolds. That way, even if plans change, you’ll be ready to maintain your workout routine and stay in shape throughout your vacation.

2. Choose Activities You Don’t Usually Do

When we have a consistent routine of specific workouts at set times during the year, it can become monotonous and somewhat tiring over time. Also, due to other obligations, it's often hard to find time in our schedule to try new activities we've wanted to do for a long time. That’s why vacation time is perfect for this!

Since vacation schedules often differ significantly from our usual daily routines, this period is a great chance to step out of your comfort zone and try something new. If you're used to individual workouts at the gym, vacation is a perfect opportunity to try team sports. Beach volleyball, tennis, badminton, football, or another activity you haven't had the chance to try can bring you new energy and motivation.

On the other hand, if you're used to group workouts, you can try individual training outdoors - in nature, on the beach, or even in the comfort of your room. Let your imagination run wild and explore different ways of exercising that will bring you enjoyment and satisfaction. Trying new activities will not only challenge you physically but also provide a mental break from usual routines.

Participating in local sports events can also be a great way to stay active and have fun. With a little effort and organization, your physical activity can become an integral part of your vacation rather than just another obligation. This way, you’ll not only maintain your fitness but also add a new dimension to your holiday, making it even more fulfilling and interesting.

3. The Gym is Always an Option

If none of the above options work, there's always the option of working out in the gym! That's why it's important to find a suitable gym that will allow you to continue with your training goals regardless of changes in plans. The good news is that Gyms4you has a wide range of locations, whether you're in the inland part of Croatia or on the coast.
